Houston Senior Portrait Photo Session

Chloe Dao Boutique to the Rescue

We received a frenzied call at The Shelby Studio from Kelly during the peak of graduation season. Her daughter, Olivia, needed her senior portraits taken. The only issue was that Kelly wanted the senior photo session to happen before Olivia's graduation from Lamar High School in two weeks. Since we have a very specific process for preparing our clients for their session which includes styling and wardrobe we were unsure how to proceed. After a bit of conversing, Kelly mentioned she was referred to us by Chloe Dao from Chloe Dao Boutique in Rice Village. This definitely helped relieve pressure from the preparation for the senior photo shoot since Chloe was already able to help Olivia figure out the perfect looks for her. So now that we were confident in Olivia's wardrobe her senior photoshoot was a go!

Serving Graduation Makeup Looks

Olivia works at Sprinkles Cupcakes and, to our surprise she arrived with a box full of cupcakes that were personalized with “The Shelby Studio”. She truly made our day! These were calories we could get behind. Kelly and Olivia were a delightful mother-daughter duo and their dynamic kept the session lively and fun. Sunny of Sunny Hair and Makeup Artistry gave Olivia a dewy makeup look and her already beautiful hair was curled into beautiful beachy waves. And of course the wardrobe was a dream. Olivia modeled a few of Chloe Dao dresses. One of our favorites was the Stripe Cruise Dress. You can wear it with the sleeves at the shoulders or slide the sleeve down for a coy off the shoulder switch up. We love the versatility of the dress.

Good Luck to the Class of 2019

Kelly attended the University of Texas in Austin. Olivia is her first born and will be following close behind in her footsteps. Olivia was a dream to work with, she’s a fun and confident young woman. Most of the photoshoot was spent laughing and dancing. She also incorporated a few of her crazy poses as well. We know she has a bright future ahead and will be successful in any endeavor she takes on. Congratulations to the Class of 2019!
