How To Print Your Photos

Printing your photos is an absolute must! I’ve discussed the benefits of printing photos (here) (here) and (here). The options available to us for printing photos are as varied and as easy as ever before.

All of our studio clients get prints. While we understand the desire for digital images, which we do provide, the reality is that printed photos will be appreciated and valued far more than their digital versions. These digital images tend to sit on hard drives or in the cloud and go unused are rarely viewed. Printed photos, on the other hand, are displayed around homes and offices and are viewed daily, creating real value.

Here are 3 great ways in which you can print photos directly from your phone. I do not personally recommend any of these specific products, I’m simply listing some of the most popular choices and strongly encourage you to do your own research before purchasing any one of them (or any of their competitors).

Polaroid ZIP Mobile Printer

Smartphone Printers

There are a number of printers that are specifically designed for use with a smartphone. These are portable and easy to use. The most popular are

Polaroid ZIP Mobile Printer

Fujifilm Instax SP-3 Mobile Printer

Kodak Dock & Wi-Fi 4x6” Photo Printer

These are just three of the many options for mobile printing. The benefits of using this type of printer is mostly tied to the fact that they are portable. The size of prints is limited to small prints with these printers.

Desktop Photo Printers

There’s no need to stick with smartphone specific printers. There are desktop printers that are available for printing your photos, many of which can print directly from your phone or camera. Some great options are

Epson Expression Premium XP-7100 Wireless Color Photo Printer

HP OfficeJet 3830 All-in-One Wireless Printer

Canon PIXMA TS9520 Wireless Photo All In one Printer

These printers will give you options for better prints as well as larger size options. Set up for these will require a little more time and effort but no only a little more than setting up a standard printer. These will also require you to download printer specific apps that enable you to print directly from your phone. These apps are generally free however.

Google Photobook

Photo Books

I personally love photo books, they’re a great way to print images that may not be great for the wall but that capture memories and the day to day activities that are so important to remember. Here are a few of the popular choices for photo books

Artifact Uprising

This is certainly a much more time consuming options but if you make the time it will be worth it!

Not everyone can afford to have their photos done professionally but that shouldn’t prevent them or their children from the benefits and joys of having their photos printed.
